Last month, the Wiki Education Foundation doubled in size from three to six employees — and we’re at it again! We’ve just posted two new positions: Classroom Program Manager and Communications Associate. Both positions will support our growing programs department in expanding our mission to support university faculty members in the United States and Canada using Wikipedia as a teaching tool in their classrooms.
The Classroom Program Manager will work closely with instructors, volunteers, and Wikipedia editors to coordinate programmatic activity and support Wikipedia assignments; collaborate with existing staff to develop and implement long-term and short-term strategies and goals for growing a sustainable program; build strong relationships with Wikipedia editors, instructors, and volunteers; and develop surveys and metrics to evaluate and present results.
The Communications Associate will spend the majority of his or her time creating communications material such as blog posts and help literature for program participants in support of our programmatic activities. The Communications Associate will also be a point of contact for news media, the Wikipedia editing community, and others interested in our programs and organization. The position is within the programs department, and the Communications Associate will work closely with program managers to ensure the programmatic activities are well communicated.
